The E350 4Matic AWD was introduced in 2006 by Mercedes Benz with an all-wheel drive drivetrain system. It was to continue as a W211 chassis, but with a larger 3.5 Liter motor. This sleek mid-size performance sedan and wagon enjoyed an all-wheel drive performance with luxury features.
To answer the competition Mercedes utilized two drive shafts on the car, giving a smooth all-wheel drive all the time. This give the E350 great snow and off-road capabilities.
Failure of the front drive shaft is common for the E350 4Matic. A vibration during speeds of over 30 mph is very common. The front driveshaft U joints will also show signs of rust when they are extremely bad. High quality E350 Drive shaft replacement is important for the correct function of this vehicle.

Mercedes Benz E350 4Matic Driveshaft Design
The rear 2-piece driveshaft connects the transmission to a rear differential. It incorporates a center support in the middle with a slip yoke and a single U-Joint. There are also two flex discs in the rear and front that connect this driveshaft to the transmission. There is also a front driveshaft that is a straight tubular shaft with a U-Joint mounted on each end and a slip yoke in the middle.
For our E350 4Matic front driveshaft we made the following improvements and changes over the weak original design:
- Redesign of the front and rear flanges to accommodate U joints that are replaceable unlike the original which are not. This gives you the advantage of being able to replace just the joint, and not the whole driveline itself, in case of a failure.
- The slip yoke has larger wider splines to handle more stress and eliminate play this is a propriety design for our front drive shaft.
Our E350 propeller shaft is made by state of the art machinery and It is an OEM Fitment product. All our driveshafts are speed balanced at 3,500 RPM and are built to last and perform, to give you long lasting operation and vibration free product.
All replacement parts, such as U-joints, center support bearing and front nose bushing, are available from us at a low cost. Replacing these parts is something you may want to consider in case of a future breakdown after the warranty ends, and it is something the competition may not be able to help you with.
