Photo of Mercedes E320 4Matic Driveshaft The E320 4Matic was the first AWD passenger car designed by Mercedes Benz. The model line started in 1998 with an all-wheel drive drivetrain system that give it the off road advantage and the on road stability that owners of four wheel drive vehicle enjoy. To achieve that, Mercedes installed two driveshafts and four axles on this W210 chassis, which was offered both as a Sedan and Wagon. There is a long rear two-piece driveshaft on the vehicle and a short front one-piece drive shaft that connects the transfer case to the front differential.

Failure of the front drive shaft is common for the E320 4Matic. A vibration during speeds of over 30 mph is very common. The front driveshaft U joints will also show signs of rust when they are extremely bad. High quality E320 Drive shaft replacement is important for the correct function of this vehicle.

Mercedes Benz E320 4Matic Driveshaft Design

The rear 2-piece driveshaft connects the transmission to the rear differential and incorporates a center support in the middle with a slip yoke and a single U-Joint. There are also two Flex discs in the rear and front that connect this driveshaft to the transmission. There is also a front driveshaft, which is a straight tubular shaft with a single U-Joint mounted on each end with a slip yoke in the middle.

For our E320 4Matic front driveshaft we made the following improvements and changes over the weak original design:

On the rear drives shaft we offer both new and remanufactured drivelines where all moving components are replaced with quality heavy duty parts.
